STELA Roars: The Comeback of the UB Intramurals

After three years into COVID outbreak, intramurals are officially back at the University of Baguio. The athletics office hosts a multitude of sports for both the First and Second phases of intramurals from different ballgames to less strenuous sports such as chess, darts, and billiards. Students were now given an opportunity to showcase their sportsmanship and their skills in their chosen sports.

For the opening of intramurals, the Faculties and athletes together with the muse and mascot from the different schools paraded at the gym representing their school with pride. The School of Teachers Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) of course entered the gym channeling the courage of the tiger.

In just the opening of the intramurals, STELA bagged  5 awards. With grace and regal, the Tiger Mascot and STELA Muse steal the spotlight winning Best in Muse and 1st runner-up with our Tiger Mascot.

Meanwhile, the Bleacher cheering squad, who dedicated their time and effort to practicing drills and memorizing chants, won 2nd runner up. They were led by Mr. Carlos, who also won the Best Team Captain award for ensuring that the crowd heard the loudest roar in the gym. The STELA cheering booth also earned 3rd place.

During the first phase of Intramurals, STELA bagged two trophies. STELA basketball men won 2nd runner up and Badminton Women won 1st runner up.

The second phase of intramurals is now coming to an end and STELA has secured four trophies. The women’s volleyball team showed their girl power, earning the title of 3rd runner-up, while the men’s team took 2nd runner-up with their victorious spikes.

The darts players showed off their dart-astic shots, earning them the coveted title of Champion.

The billiards players displayed finesse and focus, earning them the 3rd runner-up spot.

Venturing into the world of sports, STELA athletes embody the spirit of a tiger, fearlessly conquering their fears and doubts

The intramurals 2023-2024 are still going on, thus we encourage STELA students and faculty to continue supporting our athletes as they represent our school in the university-wide intramurals.  Together, we cheer them with our infamous chant “Let’s Go STELA, Let’s GO!”
