A Bachelor of Arts in Communication alumni, Sky Martinez won the grand prize in Abanao Square’s Official Short Film Advertisement. He wrote, edited, and directed the ad.
Martinez’s entry, Graduation, lasted 6 minutes and 38 seconds, which featured values of resiliency, grit, and dedication to education. It explores the relationship of the subject with her mother, with most footage taken from the vicinity and inside one of Baguio City’s well-known malls, Porta Vaga. The subject, Melanie Lawingan, is also an alumna of UB AB Comm and a classmate of Sky.
Mr. Martinez’s bagged 20,000.00 pesos cash prize in the virtual awarding.
