UB Psychology Students Triumphs with Project W.O.W

Fourth-year BS Psychology students from the University of Baguio, under the flag name of Mens Amica, clinched victory in the Liwliwa Ya Sursuro Youth Innovation Challenge. Held in Baguio City on January 13, with their project, “Project W.O.W: Wellness on Wheels”.

Led by Gian Danielle Orzal, the team includes Ryan Neil Cristobal, Jenny Claire Casumpang, Jenna Sheena David, Lorely Angel Domingo, Hooly Meir Parado, Tricia Andre Pomares, Michaellah Revilla, and Patricia Nicole Trajeco. Project W.O.W aims to provide mental health services to Baguio City’s outskirts.

Project W.O.W addresses mental health challenges through talks and outreach. “We’re not just offering services; we’re building a supportive community,” said Mr. Cristobal. The win highlights the impact of youth-led initiatives on societal issues.

With their victory in the Liwliwa Ya Sursuro Youth Innovation Challenge, the University of Baguio Psychology students have not only secured recognition for their outstanding work but have also underscored the transformative impact of youth-led initiatives in addressing pressing societal issues. As Project W.O.W continues to make strides in mental health advocacy, the future holds promise for a more resilient and compassionate Baguio City community.
