The University of Baguio (UB) held a Send-Off Mass on September 16, 2025, at the University of Baguio Chapel to honor and uplift its Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduates preparing for the September 2025 Board Licensure Examination for Psychometricians and Psychologists (BLEPP).
More than a religious gathering, the ceremony served as a meaningful moment of solidarity, encouragement, and empowerment for the board examination takers as they transitioned from months of thorough review to a state of readiness. It also provided them both spiritual support and a supportive community, reflecting UB’s commitment to nurture not only the intellect but also the heart and spirit of its students as they embark on their journey toward licensure examination.

The atmosphere was filled with a mix of solemn hope and joyful anticipation as families, faculty, and board examination takers united in prayer for guidance, resilience, and clarity throughout the licensure examination. The mass emphasized the role of faith, perseverance, and service core values instilled in UB’s academic culture and celebrated the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice, and growth.
During the homily, the presiding priest, Rev. Fr. Alex Ulpindo, CICM, reminded the board exam takers that preparing for the BLEPP extends beyond passing the board exam. It is a commitment to uphold human dignity, advocate for mental health, and embody compassion in the practice of psychology. As future Registered Psychologists and Psychometricians, the graduates were encouraged to become professionals who bring empathy, understanding, and healing to their communities.

Faculty members of the Psychology program also offered words of motivation, reminding the takers that they are the products of rigorous training, ethical guidance, and a supportive community. The Send-Off Mass affirmed the UB’s confidence that its graduates are fully prepared to exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and excellence that the psychology profession demands.
This meaningful ceremony perfectly aligns with the University of Baguio’s goal of developing well-rounded professionals grounded in competence and compassion, ready to serve society with heart and mind unified.
The event also highlighted UB’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specifically focusing on goals related to mental health, education, and community well-being:
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
Future RPsys and RPMs play a vital role in promoting psychological wellness, advocating for accessible mental health care, and supporting individuals facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
SDG 4: Quality Education
The university’s commitment to high quality education ensures that students are equipped with scientific knowledge, ethical grounding, and research-based skills vital to psychological practice.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
By preparing competent graduates who will soon join the mental health field, UB supports sustainable employment and the growing demand for mental health professionals in the Philippines.
As the ceremony concluded, the examinees were blessed individually symbolizing the community’s belief in their readiness and capability. The send-off mass served as a reminder that they are not alone in their journey; they carry with them the prayers, support, and confidence of their mentors and loved ones.
With renewed spirit and determination, the BLEPP takers left the gathering with a deeper sense of purpose to become compassionate, ethical, and competent professionals who uplift the psychological well-being of individuals and communities.
The University of Baguio proudly stands behind its BLEPP takers, believing wholeheartedly in their potential to become successful Registered Psychometricians and Registered Professionals. Their journey reflects UB’s mission to shape individuals who are not only academically prepared but also deeply committed to service and social responsibility.
