University of Baguio Students Pledge Their Commitment as Youth Representatives to Local City Councils

May 21, 2024, – The 2nd Batch of Baguio Youth Declaration & Participation to Local Councils called on the youth leaders to take a more active stance on contributing to the welfare of the city through their involvement in various local council initiatives. STELA students heeded the call.

“You are capable of doing something.”

Prior to taking their pledge, Mayor Benjamin Magalong inspired the youth with his anecdotes and quotes, inspiring them to reach for their dreams and do what is best for the City of Baguio without being swayed by the opinion of others.

“Change the Mindset of the Youth”

As the youth leaders voiced their pledge in unison, they are reminded of their commitment to be the voice as future leaders, workers, and citizens who will be responsible to the sustainability of the beautiful city of Baguio.

“Age should never be a factor in Leadership”.

As the oath-taking came to an end, the youth leaders feel empowered to take on the challenges and responsibilities that they have signed up for knowing that they have of support of the city.

This initiative of the Local Government of Baguio not only focuses on the interests of the city, but also aims to contribute to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Goals as included in the Sustainable Development Goal Council, which is also in line with University of Baguio’s commitment to serve the community and to promote the SDG.
