The University of Baguio’s Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) program, in partnership with the Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD), recently hosted the webinar “Sustaining Excellence for a Lifetime”. The event highlighted the importance of holistic development, equipping sophomore pre-service teachers with essential skills to navigate their academic journey while addressing personal and social challenges.

The resource speaker, Ms. Rizza Joy E. Quitaleg, a seasoned guidance counselor and development facilitator, delivered an impactful session emphasizing resilience, time management, and maintaining balance amidst life’s demands. She provided actionable strategies for setting achievable goals and overcoming obstacles that may hinder academic and personal growth.

Designed to foster responsibility and resilience, the webinar encouraged participants to actively manage their academic and personal lives, preparing them for lifelong success. What made the event stand out was its student-led organization, with sophomore pre-service teachers taking charge under the mentorship of three BSED faculty members.

Through this initiative, the BSED program reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing not only competent but also well-rounded and resilient future educators. The event underscored the value of collaboration, leadership, and self-management in building excellence that lasts a lifetime.
