Equipping Future Educators: STELA Hosts Mock Board Examination for Pre-Service Teachers

Preparing for success: STELA's Mock Board empowers future teachers with confidence and competence to achieve SDG 4 - Quality Education.

The School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) conducted its highly anticipated Mock Board Examination on October 19, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Designed for third-year (EDASSE1) and fourth-year (Field Study 1 & 2 / PROFEN 1 & 2) pre-service teachers in the BSED, BEED, and BPED programs, the activity aimed to prepare students for the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).

This initiative strongly aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, which focuses on promoting inclusive, equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. By equipping future educators with the knowledge and confidence needed to pass the BLEPT, STELA ensures the development of skilled and competent teachers who will shape future generations.

A key feature of the Mock Board was the collaboration with the University of Baguio Review Center, facilitated by the STELA LET Review Coordinator and Alumni Relations Coordinator. Fourth-year students tackled Professional Education subjects, while third-year students focused on General Education topics. Additionally, alumni who recently took the BLEPT in September 2024 shared their experiences, offering practical insights and guidance.

This activity exemplifies STELA’s commitment to academic excellence and professional readiness, fostering a culture of achievement that empowers pre-service teachers to excel in their chosen careers. Through initiatives like this, STELA not only prepares its students for licensure but also strengthens the foundation of quality education in the Philippines.
