Bachelor of Arts in Communication

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication is a degree program that trains and prepares students to become effective communicators capable of creating, delivering, and evaluating messages in various contexts. The program covers various areas, including interpersonal communication, advertising, marketing, public relations, communication management and planning, development communication, social media communication, risk, disaster and humanitarian communication, photography, theater, broadcasting, journalism, radio, television, film, and media studies. Students gain practical experience through practicums/internships, media production, and other hands-on learning opportunities.

Program Educational Objectives

Graduates of the program are expected to attain the following within 3 to 5 years after graduation:

  1. Display commendable performance in the media practice, and be dynamic agents in the transformation of society.
  2. Exude competence and effectiveness in communication management and leadership skills.
  3. Apply effective journalistic and creative writing skills appropriate to diverse audiences.
  4. Develop and produce communication media content and materials in different formats and platforms.
  5. Create innovative and sustainable projects for crisis, risk, disaster, and humanitarian communication, and for development communication programs.
  6. Conduct communication and media research that promote changeand development.
  7. Sustain the highest ethical standards performed by a communication professional and a media practitioner.
